Vitamin D
The major biologic function of vitamin D is to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus. By promoting calcium absorption, vitamin D helps to form and maintain strong bones. Vitamin D also works in concert with a number of other vitamins, minerals, and hormones to promote bone mineralization.(1) Vitamin D is commercially available in two forms: vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3* (cholecalciferol).

High Stability
Vitamin D is highly susceptible to oxidation. Therefore, the vitamin D needs to be formulated in a way that protects the active ingredient from oxidizing. LycoRed uses different technologies to ensure highly stable vitamin D formulations. Proprietary beadlet technology cross-links the vitamin D inside a gelatin-based matrix, protecting it from oxidation. Microencapsulation is another technology LycoRed uses to stabilize vitamin D, which provides for vegetarian formulations
