アスタキサンチンは、サケやエビなどの水生動物や藻類（Haematococcus pluvialis）に含まれる暗赤色のケト-カロテノイドである。アスタキサンチンはユニークな分子構造を持っており、生理的ストレス時に抗酸化作用、免疫調節作用、抗炎症作用を促進する可能性がある。本研究の第一の目的は、運動によって誘発される炎症と免疫機能障害を緩和するアスタキサンチンの4週間摂取の有効性を、マルチオミクスアプローチを用いて検討することである。
