Red promotes feelings of warmth, energy, and attraction.

Carot-O-Fact

Lycopene is a vibrant red pigment and can be found in a variety of fruits and veggies from guavas to pink grapefruits to tomatoes (our hero fruit). It has been linked to cardiovascular, skin, and prostate wellness.

Purple promotes feelings of creativity, calm, and heightened awareness.

Carot-O-Fact

While beta-carotene is famous for its yellow-orange color, it can be found in unusual places like purple eggplants and even leafy greens. Beta-carotene is a potent antioxidant that works to support immune function.

Blue promotes feelings of calm, confidence, and stability.

Carot-O-Fact

Beta-carotene isn't the only carotenoid found in surprising places. Both lutein and zeaxanthin, two synergistic nutrients that are linked to skin health, are yellow-to-orange in tone but appear in more neutral-hued green and blue cabbages.

Discover Lutein

Green promotes feelings of growth, freshness, and clarity.

Carot-O-Fact

It may not be immediately apparent if an organism contains astaxanthin. For example the algae haematococcus pluvialis is actually green. When conditions become unfavorable for growth, the bright red pigment manifests to help protect the healthy cells.

Discover Astaxanthin

Yellow promotes feelings of joy, warmth, and optimism.

Carot-O-Fact

Lutein is commonly associated with the eyes, but the yellow pigment also works hard to support skin health and texture and even cardiovascular wellness. We source ours from beautiful marigolds.

Discover Lutein

Orange promotes feelings of energy, fun, and friendliness.

Carot-O-Fact

Carrots may be most closely associated with the orange pigment, but blakeslea trispora, a healthy fungus, actually synthesizes 99.5% beta-carotene, effectively making it a super producer of the super nutrient.

Clarity inspires us to look at carotenoids from a different perspective.

Carot-O-Fact

How do we qualify colorless carotenoids? Phytoene and phytofluene are present in many fruits and veggies (like tomatoes) but very little is known about them, their function, or their potential benefits. We’ve been studying these two mysterious carotenoids for several years, and all that work even resulted in a brand new, non-GMO tomato variety, our golden tomato. To support the launch of Lumenato ™, our newest proprietary skin-focused nutrient blend, we teamed up with acclaimed photographer Craig Burrows to turn that lovely golden variety into a work of art.
