Vitamin D is a sensitive material – it can oxidize quickly, is sensitive to light, and is best kept in a dark vacuum. Our delivery technologies use precise systems to preserve and protect it in process, application, and use. We select the best microencapsulation technologies to ensure that your product is a success on the shelves.

  • Spray Coating

    We spray coat the active to form a film that is then dried above a fluidized bed. It can be adapted depending on the active ingredient and your final application requirements.

  • Starch Beadlets

    We encapsulate active ingredients in starch. This type of beadlet is water dispersible and suitable for use in both food and supplements.

  • Gelatin Beadlets

    This method allows us to encapsulate the
    desired nutrients in gelatin. This beadlet form
    protects against oxidation and increases
    the stability of the nutrients housed inside.

Health Associations

Bone Health

It is well established that Vitamin D helps absorb Calcium. It also takes an important role in building the protein Osteocalcin, which is needed to bring Calcium into the bone mass. The active interplay between Calcium and Vitamin D is needed to prevent skeletal disease, which is of significant importance for post-menopausal women and all those over 60.

General Health

Recent meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials indicated that Vitamin D supplementation may also reduce extra-skeletal outcomes such as infections, asthma exacerbations, pregnancy outcomes and mortality.
A 2020 study reported that intake of vitamin A and E from diet and supplements, and Vitamin D from supplements, show strong evidence of association with lower self-reported prevalence of respiratory complaints in a nationally representative sample of UK adults.

There is a wide body of research that suggests that Vitamin D works synergistically with other vitamins and minerals. In addition to Calcium, research has shown that both Vitamin K and Magnesium are cofactors for Vitamin D biosynthesis, transport and activation – with benefits for osteoporosis prevention and bone and cardiovascular health.

Covid 19

In a recent meta anlaysis, it was found  that Vitamin D may act in COVID-19 by protecting the respiratory system through antimicrobial peptide cathelicidins. Through this it reduces lung inflammation, regulates innate and adaptive immune functions and upregulates autophagy gene activity.
